For the making-of of our final Element, we had to test the japanese cuts as joints with a 1:1 mock-up using the real wood pieces (2,8 x 10,2 cm). To construct our structure we will be using 3 wood pieces ; 2 who make a perpendicular and 1 « L » shaped, at each 8 corners to create the 3D rectangular shape frame, all of them designed to interact with each other through these empty spaces created by sawing. One exception we have is for the 4 corner pillars, to come up with something strong enough to hold up and aesthetic-looking, we decided on using 1 – 2,7 x 10 cm and 1 – 2,7 x 6,1 cm wood to shape as the letter L connected with a couple screws along each 1,95 m lengths.
