Individual mapping

For this phase, the focus was placed on the public lighting and its use. I explored the site by thinking on which structure could the lighting have a positive impact on the stay of the visitors. L’Entracte has no direct public lights, even if there are some nearby, the light beam goes in the opposite direction and a high wall hides the structure from receiving light.

The approach was to enlight a place poor in lightening. The chosen structure is composed of three sitting areas that stand at a certain distance. To make the place more charming and cosy, so that the people would feel safe and invited, a candle is placed within the piece of rammed earth. The main goal is not to create a big light, but more to create a poetic and « ancestory » atmosphere.

Given that a piece of rammed earth can be reproduced thanks to the formwork, it could open up new potentialities, such as putting multiples modules on the existing structure(s).
