Our site is defined by a strongly marked pathway creating a LIEU DE PASSAGE which connects the main road of the KOMMUNA des Frères with a closed parcel. By developing this In-Between Space as a public place, we highlight the living capacity of these connection lines between different types of regions.

Herman Hertzberger is a dutch architect who questions the border between public and personal space, and observes how these two spheres interfere with one another. In his photographs, he brings life to preexisting NICHES in urban sceneries.

These intimate ROOMS are directly negotiated with the restricted surroundings, adding very few elements to make them inhabited, without impacting the site’s features. By doing so, he brings warmth to highways and other LIEUX DE PASSAGES.
By developing the stoned pathway of our site with different types of terraces, we want to create a living area on a crossing point between two parcels. These NICHES DE VIE bring various uses of space by offering different heights, and with white veils we alter the platform’s luminosity by creating a moving shadow embracing the whole structure.
