
For the second phase, the first thing we did was choosing the site for our element. We found the perfect one near the footbridge, along the path : a gutter with his sewer to better manage the rainwater. It was important to us find a place where we were going to create something which could not be moved elsewhere and it was the perfect place, because of its original shape

We chose this gutter firstly because we found its architecture powerful and intriguing (it’s not something you see often) but also because of the leaves that clogged it. These leaves are a big problem in the gutters of houses, on the street, . . . So while thinking about our element, we were aware of creating something for the people, but also for these leaf’s issues.
We have made a collage of the site here to highlight the natural waste that hampers it.

So our idea is to built a bench, but not just a bench on the side of the road. It will be created from the shape of the gutter with two blocks of plaster. The supports and the seat will be made from wooden beams. In order to help with the passage of water into the sewer, we will make holes in the plaster, large enough for the water, but small for the leaves.
