For that first phase (Measure 1), we had to go to Geneva and find what’s the public space in our line.
In our cas there are two fences that we can’t get around or go through those are the limits of the public space.
One fence is hidden (the fence is in a huge vegetation area) and there is no passing.
The other fence is next to the ONU. It was a way more crowded. And we can’t forget about the traffic, the noise and the place the cars/bus took next to this fence. Consequently, the contrast between this two limits is evident.
This exercise helps us to see how an obstacle could be cut the public space, and also what they separate us from.
We also learned to mesure with our bodies and positions them in a defined place.
Finally, we represent all our observations, impressions and mesures of the sight thanks to a drawing (in Vectorwork,), a photographic investigation (pictures of body measures, a panorama of the line) and the realization of a topographic cast .
